starting from david leatherbarrow and mohsen mostafavi’s idea that picturesque roughness is a living site for architectural experimentation, this project develops and documents a process for creating vivid materiality. crystals are grown in maya bifrost through repeated iterations, each generation sprouting smaller copies of the last, then split into two families, glazed crystal and     salt crystal, and textured in adobe substance. many small fragments are stitched into one rough, luminous whole.
